Heroic viticulture of the Ribeira Sacra
It is said that vine growing in the Ribeira Sacra was introduced by the Romans and revived during the Middle Ages by the monks. Legend has it that the wine grown here was so important that even the Caesars demanded it. Be that as it may, the legacy lives on and today it remains the livelihood of many of our inhabitants.
